Safe Harbor Recognized as Top Performer in Pennsylvania

ERIE – Safe Harbor Behavioral Health was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association (PCPA) benchmarking initiative as being a ‘Top 10 Data Submitter.’ A top submitter is an organization that tendered the most data in the initial data submission period of this year’s PCPA benchmarking initiative. The importance of this achievement goes well beyond its relevance to the benchmarking project. Noteworthy performance is likely to be a reflection of highly effective methods, processes, attitudes, skill sets, and other elements of infrastructure that have been developed in the pursuit of ongoing organizational improvement. PCPA extends kudos to all ten organizations from across Pennsylvania for their hard work.

Safe Harbor has committed to the benchmarking process because of the value it sees in improving agency services and care. The initiative has blended well with the agency’s goals and agency-wide performance improvement initiatives regarding “no-show” rates (focusing on initial intake no-shows), therapy no-shows, med check no-shows and initial psychiatric no-shows. Being able to benchmark ourselves to similar agencies has been extremely beneficial.

Safe Harbor Behavioral Health, Erie, PA, is a private, non-profit mental health agency that provides outpatient services, behavioral health rehabilitation services and 24-hour-a-day crisis intervention. Safe Harbor has also been recognized as a “Model Program” statewide in the development and implementation of crisis services and the delivery of innovative outpatient services to individuals and families.

The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association (PCPA), Harrisburg, PA, promotes a community-based, responsive and viable system of agencies providing quality services for individuals receiving mental health, mental retardation, addictive disease and other related human services. To achieve that purpose, the Association serves as a forum for the exchange of information and experience, represents providers on legislative and administrative matters, and serves as a point of contact with other related statewide organizations.
